Nobody asks to get locked out, an inconvenient and downright dangerous situation that can place you and your loved ones in positions of compromised security. In this blog entry, the emergency lockout service experts here at Sonic Locksmith will detail some of the most important tips to follow if you ever find yourself locked out.Call for Help
Contact your landlord, your next door neighbor, your housemates, or your friends. Ideally, one of these people have been given a spare key that can be used to help get you in. This is a fantastic approach that guarantees you a lifeline in the event of a lockout.
Check Unlocked Windows
While we don’t recommend leaving your windows unlocked for any reason, in this event an unlocked window can be a godsend. Try to remove the window’s screen, lift the window, and crawl through - just be careful not to hurt yourself!
Remove the Doorknob
While we don’t recommend this (we think it’s a much better approach to contact a licensed locksmith expert who can do the work themselves) you may consider removing the doorknob. Some doorknobs have mounting screws or connections concealed, with a small pin sized hole under or to the side of the knob. Use a bobby pin or paperclip to press inside this hole - keep pushing as far as possible while pulling and twisting the doorknob, all while applying pressure, until the door knob comes off. Then, remove the decorative plate to show the locket - and then pull the locking mechanism back and the door should unlock.
Contact a Licensed Locksmith
This is the fastest, safest, and most convenient approach. Simply contact a licensed locksmith expert who has experience providing emergency lockout services. The experts here at King Locksmith will arrive at your location in a simple matter of minutes, instantly granting you access to your home, and saving you hours of effort - and all for a fair and competitive rate!
